The Bible has been and can be legally taught on a devotional basis at a time set aside during the school day when public school students, with parental permission, leave the school premises to attend religious education classes led by religious or community groups. These classes, known as Released Time programs, are held off school premises, usually in a nearby religious facility. Since its inception in 1914, millions of students from kindergarten through high school have participated. Currently over 250,000 students participate. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld Released Time as protected by the Constitution of the United States. www.shalomzone.org/ = The national office of the United Methodist Church originated the idea of "Shalom Zones" or places of peace for children and communities to build understanding, be nurtured, and grow in Christian faith. There are now about 300 Shalom Zones around the country. Shalom Zone is a nonprofit, faith-based program devoted to reducing the internal and external pressures of poverty. The Speak Out Against Domestic Violence Resource Brochure offers domestic violence facts, warning signs, safety planning information, resources and more. SADD seeks to demonstrate positive and attractive alternatives to alcohol and other drug-infused activities for teenagers. A one page "Question & Answer" flyer titled Domestic Violence: What You Need to Know and How You Can Help includes topics such as defining the different forms of domestic violence, the signs of abuse and ways to help.
